Joyology is a short series exploring joy as a lived, intentional practice. Beginning with reflections on joyful longevity drawn from the life of the oldest woman in North America, the series then turns outward—offering practical insight on carrying joy into travel, daily life, and moments of discovery. Grounded in curiosity, Joyology invites viewers to engage with the world around them and uncover joy through pulling threads of intrigue.

Each year, Joy hosts an annual Seed Swap that invites participants to send seeds from their own gardens to be shared, mixed, and redistributed as a collective offering. Joy thoughtfully blends the contributions and sends them back out in hand-crafted seed packets, each one infused with artistic expression. The project is a shared act of planting—both in soil and in spirit—encouraging growth, connection, and possibility for the season ahead.

Morning Altars are one of Joy’s most cherished practices—impermanent offerings created at dawn in deep forests, along quiet beaches, on mountain peaks, and everywhere in between. Using found natural materials, Joy arranges these temporary forms as a way of honoring the fleeting nature of each moment and the quiet beauty of beginning again. Left behind to return to the land, the altars serve as gentle reminders that joy is not something to hold onto, but something to notice—present in the act of attention, reverence, and the simple grace of being fully awake to the day.
