Seeds of Joy
Planting beauty, generosity, and possibility—one seed at a time.
Anual Seed Swap
Each year, Joy hosts a seasonal seed exchange that blends gardening, creativity, and connection into a shared act of hope for the year ahead. More than a simple exchange, this practice invites participants to contribute seeds gathered with care and intention, which are then thoughtfully mixed, repackaged, and sent back out as a collective offering.
How to Participate
Share What You’re Growing
Participants are invited to select or collect enough seeds to create ten small packets of flower seeds to share. These may be all one variety or a thoughtful mix. Organic seeds are preferred whenever possible.
Create with Care
Each seed packet is designed as a small piece of art. You may use plain envelopes or create your own, adding your personal touch through drawing, collage, lettering, or texture. Please include simple planting instructions—and feel free to give your seeds a new name inspired by beauty, joy, or the season.
Send Them Along
Once you’ve signed up, mailing instructions will be shared. Seed packets should be sent by February 18 (Ash Wednesday) to be included in the exchange.
Receive the Gift
In return, participants receive ten different seed packets from ten different contributors, along with a few Joyology surprises. Each packet becomes a keepsake—something to plant, share, or treasure.
Participation is free. All that’s asked is care, creativity, and the intention to help make the world a little more beautiful. For consistency and ease of mailing, please keep packets under 5” x 7”.
